Garzon and Friday at Studioplex

“Complaints of an Art Critic” at Studioplex Gallery #138. The event will include detail works on paper by emerging artist Sergio Garzon and Mister Friday, live performance by Bossa Nova musicians, drinks and tapas. 10% of all proceeds from the exhibit will support the newly founded non-profit artist co-op Dodekapus in the continued efforts to bridge the gap between art and community in Atlanta. It will also provide the Atlanta arts community and supporters with the opportunity to network and celebrate social progress through the arts.

Complaints of an Art Critic will take place at Studioplex located at 659 Auburn Ave, NE, Atlanta, GA 30312. Sergio Garzon and Mister Friday intend to create a collaborative artistic vision addressing the supply and demand for pop-art. Garzon explores the early conceptions of Japanese Ukiyo-e prints in a contemporary audience while Mister Friday explores contemporary images social dynamics through his elegant drawings.

  1. “Dodekapus (as in a 12 tentacled sea-creature) is an artist collective representing individuals from different media such as painters, sculptors, photographers, performance artists, fashion designers, videographers, lighting designers, writers, musicians, chefs, poets, dancers and multiple other artists of indiscriminate talents.” The group, with the kind help of WonderRoot, are on the way to becoming a Non profit organization.
