As the weather is warming up, and before it gets insufferably hot, it might just be the perfect time to wander through the neighborhood of Castleberry Hill during their 2nd Fridays Art Stroll this month. The next one is scheduled for the evening of May 14th from 7-10 p.m.
Many galleries and neighborhood businesses will be open and participating in the Art Stroll, making it an ideal time to scope out new galleries that you haven’t yet visited, or stop by to check out the latest offerings of your established favorites in the neighborhood. You might even discover a new restaurant or boutique.
Some of the participating galleries are Artist Trifecta, Besharat Gallery, Big House Gallery, Castleberry Point, Escape Gallery, Granite Room, Marcia Wood Gallery, Peters Street Projects, Studio Clout, and ZuCot Gallery.
A bit of related news of note: May 14th will also be the grand opening of the Peters Street Projects, at 163 Peters Street. It’s a collaboration of Besharat Gallery and Mason Murer Fine Art. According to a recent press release, “Massoud Besharat designed and built an incredible new gallery at 163 Peters Street, two doors down from Besharat Gallery. Mark Mason Karelson of Mason Murer will direct and curate exhibitions at the gallery, beginning with “WORD,” an examination of the use of language in Modern and Contemporary Art.” You can stop in for your first visit during gallery hours on Friday or during the Art Stroll Friday evening!
