Atlanta Photography Group presents Speaking of Photography (lecture/discussion) with Danielle Avram – “Building a Portfolio.”
Danielle will discuss what curators look for when reviewing a portfolio, and how you can best prepare your work to show to others.
Danielle Avram is an independent curator based in Atlanta, GA. She has a BA in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas, and an MFA in Visual Art from Tufts University in conjunction with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
From 2008 to 2011 Danielle worked as a Curatorial Assistant for the departments of Photography and Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta. During her tenure she curated four exhibitions of works from the permanent collection, and helped to develop the Photography department’s 2012 Picturing the South commission series featuring artists Martin Parr, Kael Alford and Shane Lavalette. Prior to her work at the High, Danielle taught studio photography and photo history at UT Dallas and the Museum School.
