Maybe you’ve seen gloATL perform before, animating spaces around Atlanta. Or you attended Wonderglo and watched them take over the W Hotel. Well you haven’t seen anything like what happens when Lauri Stallings and gloATL take over the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. In between exhibitions, they animate the gallery architecture by scaling walls, perching in the rafters, and sending waves of movement through the center.
gloATL, in their third seasonal residency at ACAC, presents in-process work in response to the space and architecture. Continuing a year-long program that began in Oct 2011, gloATL will develop a series of site-related works between seasonal exhibition periods, using the facility as a source of inspiration and a venue for the presentation of indoor and outdoor experiments in gravity and movement.
