On Thursday, April 26th, the Swan Coach House Gallery and the Forward Arts Foundation open the exhibition “The Price is Right: Art Under $1,000.” The first The Price is Right exhibition took place in the gallery in 2010, to offer more affordable works of art. Now in its third year, the very popular show features the the best up-and-coming emerging artists of our community, and also the work of many fine established artists who have pieces can be bought for under $1,000.
Atlanta has a vibrant arts community that includes young, recently graduated art students who have chosen to stay in Atlanta; artists who have moved here from other communities; and more established artists who have lived and created art in Atlanta for years. The Price is Right is a blend of the work of these artists.
“This year I have chosen to focus on fewer artists and including more of their work,” says Marianne Lambert, curator of the gallery. “You will see paintings, photography, collages, prints, and mixed media art by 18 exciting Atlanta area artists, and one intriguing new discovery from North Carolina.”
