“Candy Coated” features a total of four bodies of work by artist and SCAD professor Ann-Marie Manker that extend back to 2007. The exhibit at SCAD Atlanta’s Trois Gallery includes both previously seen paintings and new work, including pieces from her latest series, Lashes for Ankles.
Originally exhibited at the Pinnacle Gallery at SCAD’s main campus in Savannah, the show was featured as a part of the school’s deFINE ART week in February and now has made its way to Atlanta. Manker’s works focus on female figures set against colorful landscapes where girlhood references are juxtaposed with darker implications.
Reception, 6-7 p.m., artist talk, 7-8 p.m.
The exhibition, reception and artist talk are free and open to the public.
Through Sept. 21.
