Claire Lieberman is a sculptor and installation artist using a range of materials from jello to marble, rubber to blown glass. “Warm and Fuzzy” will be Lieberman’s first solo exhibition at Marcia Wood Gallery.

Lieberman lives and works in Bloomington, IL. She earned an MFA in 1996 from Pratt Institute. She exhibits across the US in galleries and institutions including Chelsea Art Museum, NYC, Shore Institute of Contemporary Art, NY, Queens College Art Center, NYC, Quincy Art Center, IL, and The LAB, NYC. Her extensive bibliography includes Sculpture magazine (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009), Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Art on Paper, and many more.

In her video work, photography and sculptural installations, Lieberman exploits such materials as Jell-O, alabaster, wax, glass, rubber and marble to create images that trigger a sense of dislocation. Juxtaposing solid and ephemeral materials with static and kinetic imagery, Lieberman creates a surprising reality where the solidity and rigidity of both image and material remain unresolved.

“The Garden of Lost Chances,” by Amandine Drouet

“Amandine Drouet’s latest work explores the juxtaposition of diverse elements and its relation to the tension between beauty and decay. Motivated by the interplay between memory, loss and regeneration, Amandine created an imaginary garden incorporating photography, sculpture, installation and drawing- using everyday items that have been discarded or cast away. Amandine’s intent is to allow the viewer to bring his or her own experiences and personal narratives to the work.”

Closing Reception, Saturday, February 27th.

“Here We Hide,” New Two and Three Dimensional Work by Joe Tsambiras, Sam Parker, and The Paper Twins.

Here We Hide brings together collaborative duos from Atlanta, Joe Tsambiras and Sam Parker of the Majestic Hours Project and the Paper Twins. All of the participants have been engaged in the Atlanta street art movement, however street art is not the focus of Here We Hide. This exhibit is a combination of collaborative installation and discretely functioning art pieces from each of the artists. The four artists are aiming to create an interior space that mimics the interiors of personal living and work spaces. It will be an assemblage of three dimensional objects emerging from the walls blending gallery and private space.

On display at MINT Sundays from 3p-6p or by appointment through March 21st.
