In his current series of paintings to be presented on October 3rd, Jay Davis delivers direct experiences of beauty through his journeys into the woods. Davis’ work is characterized by the use of representational subjects from nature which provide a common ground with which to communicate with his audience. In “The End of Irony and the Beginning of Sincerity”, Davis explores the aesthetics of direct experience and ponders the relevance and demise of post-modern irony through his expressive watercolor paintings.
